§ 90-239. Precast units.

(a)

Manholes shall be constructed of precast units. Brick manholes shall not be permitted. Cast-in-place manholes may be accepted on a case-by-case basis for conflict resolution.

(b)

The design of the precast manhole shall include a precast monolithic base with the bottom section of the manhole walls. The minimum base thickness shall be eight inches.

(c)

Precast manholes, including steel reinforcement and wall thickness, shall conform to ASTM C-478, except as otherwise specified in this division. The date of manufacture and the name or trademark of the manufacturer shall be clearly marked on each precast section.
